MAFS Washington DC reunion special was last night. In fact, the last few seasons of this popular reality tv show; the experts have not been successful in their matches. And, this season, there were unhappy couples from the get-go.
MAFS Washington DC Decision Day
With the 8 week experiment over, the couples need to make a decision whether to stay married or get a divorce. Be sure to read my MFS Washington DC post to read about the 5 couples matched.
- Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd – In my opinion, this couple seemed well-matched from the minute they met at the altar. Of course, it wasn’t a surprise this couple decided to stay together.
- Meka Jones and Michael Watson – When they met at the altar, this couple seemed to experience issues right away. So, it wasn’t a surprise that Meka decides to end their relationship. Michael said he doesn’t believe in divorce; however, his dishonesty was apparent throughout the series.
- Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid – From the time this couple meet at the altar; I didn’t see them as a match. Meanwhile, on their honeymoon, Brandon and Taylor had some big fights and there were issues with production.
- Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman – Although this couple started off strong; the relationship seemed to deteriorate throughout the experiment. Surprisingly, they decide to stay married and go as far as signing a year-long lease on an apartment.
- Mindy Shibin and Zach Justice – Before this experiment ended, Mindy told Zach she wanted a divorce. However, they still showed up on decision day and Mindy said she was working on herself and in a good place.
MAFS Washington DC Reunion
Now that the experiment is over, 5 months later the couples reunite. Now, that the cameras have stopped rolling; are the two couples that decided to stay married, still married? The reunion show is hosted by Kevin Frasier.
- So, the first couple Kevin speaks to is Katie and Derek. Although they decided to stay married on decision day; it was clear there were questions marks in this relationship. When Kevin asked if they were still together, they both have moved on.
- Next, is Meka and Michael. Since Meka wanted a divorce; there was nothing new said.
- Mindy and Zack were brought out next and Zack did apologize for hurting Mindy.
- Jessica and Austin are happily still married and seemed to be in a good place.
- Because Brandon was inappropriate in his action to the MAFS production team; he wasn’t on the reunion show. However, Taylor was brought on stage. Several months later they saw each other at a bar, and an incident occurred where they both ended up in jail. Now, they both have protective orders in place.
Couples Meet on Stage
In summary, the couples all meet on stage; and a lot of the conversation is on the situation that happened between Taylor and Brandon.
Meanwhile, two people ended up going on a date. Drumroll… Kate and Zack go for drinks; however, when Kate learns more about Zack she said she didn’t want any part of that, so… now only one couple remain married and the other 8 people are back to single life.
In summary, MAFS is next. Surprisingly, they’re going with 5 couples again for this series. Personally, I liked the show better with 3 or 4 couples.
