Embracing Age
Embracing age as I get older is something I’m facing daily. When I was younger, I was always saying to family and friends, I cannot wait until I’m old enough to drive, go to college, start a career, a family and buy a house. I’ve accomplished everything I set out to do however find the days and years going by much to fast.
It is important to stay healthy and be your best at any age. Life doesn’t change because we have a few grey hairs popping out, a wrinkle, or weight change. We are all experiencing major life changes as we grow older. Some of us have experienced the loss of loved ones, career changes, children leaving home, and physical changes. The key to growing from these changes is keeping your mind clear and stay healthy. Follow these tips to help you maintain your physical and emotional health:
Teens and Twenties
We all hope to look like someone older however it is important to enjoy our youth. Eye creams, skin creams, and beauty treatments aren’t needed as frequently or at all. Stay focused on yourself. Enjoy your school years. Take care of your skin by washing your face daily and use beauty products that will combat issues as you age. Hence you need to be practical. Additionally, you need to be comfortable in your own skin.
Thirties
Each person is unique and each has their own health woes and beauty concerns. Things to pay attention to in your thirties are:
- Keep a healthy body weight.
- Keep your skin looking fresh.
- Prevent bone loss
- Reduce stress
- Drink lots of water – I recommend this at all ages.
It is important to cleanse your face both in the morning and before going to bed. Highlight your best features. Wear colors, textures, and styles that bring out the best in you. The thirties are where most people are starting to settle into a career, relationship, home, or family.
Middle Age – 40’s – 60’s
As I enter my middle ages, I’ve learnt to embrace and enhance the aging process. For example here are some things I do regularly to help me looking young is:
- Exercise regularly.
- Eat healthier.
- Drink a lot of water – A tip I recommend for all ages.
- Whiten your teeth. There are a lot of over the counter products available and new dental procedures.
- Try a new hairstyle.
- Update your wardrobe.
- Make-overs, Beauty, or skin treatments.
- Cosmetic Procedures. There are many options available including: Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, and laser therapy. For those wanting something drastic, do your research and consult a qualified Plastic Surgeon.
70’s, 80’s and 90’s
By following a lifetime of eating healthy, diet, beauty, and skincare routines, we can age gracefully. In particular, here are some things to consider for those in their Senior years are:
- Fruits and raw vegetables are known to build healthy new cells.
- Vitamins – replenish your body.
- Use a good cleanser and exfoliate to remove dead skin cells.
- Use concealer.
- Update your wardrobe.
- Try a new hairstyle. Many Women like to try bangs at their age as this softens their face and surrounding areas.
In this day and age – no pun intended – age is a number. The ’40s are the new 20’s and ’50s are the new 30’s. In essence, many Women and Men don’t look their age. Obviously, no one can avoid the aging process but each of us can do things in our own life to make the process less stressful.
