With the holiday season here, it is important to manage stress.  Since many of us are overwhelmed due to a job crisis, family pressure, and financial issues, it is important to balance your stress.

Manage Stress

In the first place you need to set an action plan on how you can manage stress during the holiday season.  For example, set a goal.  If you have certain things that need to get done, compile a list.  By focusing on what you need to do, you’re able to control a course of action.  First, second, third – by having a checklist you will be able to prioritize.

Also, it is good idea to break things down.  If you need something immediately, don’t be afraid to ask for help.  For example if you’re going out to shop, make a list of who you need to buy gifts for.  Moreover, it is important to not go into a store without knowing what to look for.  If you have something in mind, conduct a search before heading out.  Also if you have a list, it saves time.  When I lived in my old townhouse, a neighbor found the holiday time very stressful.  She found the idea of shopping for a gift for her husband, very bothersome.  For many, shopping is easy.  For others, they have no idea what to buy.  Furthermore, many don’t know where to start when venturing out on a shopping excursion.

Finances

Also important this time of year is to set up a budget.  Many individuals don’t keep track of their spending.  Furthermore, it is important to save receipts.  In addition, don’t be afraid to add up your receipts at the end of a shopping excursion.  Financial experts advise you to spend approximately 1.5% of your earnings on holiday shopping.

Conclusion

To summarize, it is easy to lose track of things over the holiday season.  With so many extra events that occur this time of year, don’t be afraid to ask a family member for extra help. If you’re looking to earn a little extra money during the season, there are many places looking for an extra set of hands.  In conclusion, manage stress over the holiday season and it will keep you on track to enjoy the season.

Be merry, happy and stress-free this holiday season.
