On Thursday, Married at First Sight Season 5 Reunion aired on Lifetime. At the same time, the experts travelled back to Chicago to see how the couples are doing after the camera’s stopped rolling.

For a few seasons, I have been addicted to this show. After all, who gets married at first sight to a stranger? You may wonder. But now, on the 5th season of this series, many couples have stayed married. Does this concept work? When you think about arranged marriages, this show resonates with many individuals.
Do the experts get it right? You wonder. When you watch this show; you see the couples begin to learn more about the person they were matched with over the course of eight weeks.
This season, we were introduced to Anthony D’Amico and Ashley Petta. Second, we met Nate Duhon and Sheila Downs. Finally, we met Cody Knapek and Danielle DeGroot.
Throughout the 8 weeks, we see the couples struggle with several issues. Since the couple are strangers, they are basically starting from scratch. As they get to know each other, will these marriages last?
Married at First Sight Season 5 Decision Day
In last week’s final episode, we see who stays married and who gets a divorce. First, Ashley and Anthony decide to stay married. Second, is Danielle and Cody. Although they seem to have a friendship, they had no sexual intimacy. So, this was a surprise for me. They both decided to stay married and continue to work on their relationship.
With Nate and Sheila, their decision could have gone either way. Because they have had some long drawn out fights, would they stay married or decide to divorce? Also, they decided to stay married. Both said they were in this for the rest of their life.
Married at First Sight Season 5 Reunion
So, for the first time all of the couples from Season 5 have decided to stay married. Due to seeing the previews for the reunion; we were left wondering what the couple’s status is now.
Furthermore, the show’s preview had you guessing if Ashley and Anthony were expecting their first child. Anthony said to one of the experts, that “They may have something to say”. One of the experts then asked if they were pregnant? Well, we learnt they are not. Moreover, they are growing in their marriage.
For me, the big surprise was that Danielle and Cody still haven’t consummated their marriage. What was more shocking is they are still married.
Sheila and Nate both say their marriage is forever. Not only did all three couples agree to stay married in the finale, but are still married several months later without the camera’s around. Will all three couples make it? Of course, time will tell.
