So, with my enjoyment of the Married at first sight series, I was excited to see Married – Second Chances. Since my hubby introduced me to this show a few years ago, I have really enjoyed this series.
Married at First Sight
Of course, I’ve had a lot of laughs. Indeed, I wonder how someone could marry a stranger. Above all, I think marriage takes time and work to build a successful partnership. However, in this show the couples meet at the altar. Moreover, experts match up these singles based on questionnaires, interviews, in-depth meetings and pair you with the person you meet on your wedding day.
This show centers around three different couples who meet and marry as a stranger. The experiment lasts for eight weeks and at the end of their trial marriage, they have to decide whether to stay married or divorce.
Married at First Sight – Second Chances
Since I have been following the show for a few seasons, I have become familiar with many of the couples. Because David Norton and Vanessa Nelson’s marriage didn’t last; they were invited back to the series.
So, the series began. Guys, girls, lined up to date either Vanessa or David. As Vanessa and David met and went through speed dates, they narrowed the list from 100 to 50 suitors.
Indeed, dating isn’t easy and requires time to get to know someone In the first place, both David and Vanessa met many different people and dated over the course of four months. Meanwhile, each week they had to let one or two people go.
Second Chances Finale
Since both David and Vanessa had to narrow their selection from three to two and choose two to spend a week living with, they had a chance to preview what real life would be like.
David Norton
Although David seemed to gravitate to Malika, it was clear to me that she didn’t feel the same about him. First, David asked Malika to spend the week with him. She declined the invitation and they broke up.
So, David was left with two girls remaining. His first week was with Isabella. It was clear to me they were not a good match. His second week was spent with Tara. She was my early favorite and came across sincere and ready for a relationship.
At the end, David chose neither one. He didn’t feel he had that ever consuming feeling of love for either one and walked away from second chances, still single.
Vanessa Nelson
Vanessa’s final two were Andre and Shannon. From the beginning, I thought Andre was a good choice for Vanessa. So, for week one Vanessa started with Andre.
Vanessa seemed to take this process seriously and came across sincere. Vanessa seemed to have good weeks with both Andre and Shannon and it seemed like she had connections with both of them in different ways.
To sum up, Vanessa chose Andre. When Andre entered, he didn’t know Shannon had been let go. He started speaking to Vanessa right away and went down on one knee. Vanessa accepted Andre’s proposal and they are engaged.
Conclusion
After the finale aired, last week was the conclusion of the series. Hence, some of the guys and girls from both Vanessa and David’s journey talked about their relationship.
At the reunion, many of the Women from David’s season called him fake, and a liar. Personally, I thought Tara was the ideal choice for David and he blew it. Although, I was never a fan of David’s, I think Tara is better off that he didn’t choose her. David came across strange and deserves to be single.
Since Vanessa comes across very mature and sincere, many of the Men she let go seemed to speak highly of her. Although Vanessa was married at first sight, she has never been engaged. She is looking forward to the engagement period with Andre.
Did you watch Married at First Sight – Second Chances? As always, I welcome your comments.
