Whether you’re a parent or not, September is National Baby Safety Month. In the first place, the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association sponsors this month to increase consumer awareness.

National Baby Safety Month

Although I’m not a parent, I have a lot of contact with babies on my Husband’s side of the family. In the first place, one of the biggest injuries for babies are fall related accidents. So, how can we prevent a baby from falling? One of the best things to do is to have child safety devices.

When your baby is in a hi-chair, make sure you use a safety strap. Also, when a baby is crawling or learning to walk, make sure you have your home child proof. By having straps, safety belts and harnesses on furniture and baby merchandise, you’re reducing the risk of a baby falling or having an accident.

National Baby Safety Month Tips

As the month begins, some tips to keep in mind for your baby. Whether you have a baby or a young infant in your vehicle, make sure you use a car seat. At the same time, a car seat is easy to use and keeps your child safe.

If you’re out walking with a baby, make sure you have the stroller in a locked position. Also, when you’re out running errands, don’t put anything heavy onto the stroller. You don’t want to cause anything from falling onto your infant or for the stroller to tip over.

Since most homes have hazards, it is important to child proof your home. Hence, don’t hold a baby while you’re cooking or doing work in your home. Don’t keep sharp objects that a baby can easily reach. Because most infants like to explore, it is important to keep sharp objects out of reach.

Conclusion

Although this month is National Baby Safety Month, it is important to prioritize your infant’s safety all year-long. As always, I welcome your comments.
