National Backward Day is today. So, if you haven’t heard of this strange non-holiday; I’ll let you in on some ways you can celebrate this silly day.
National Backward Day
No one really knows how this day started; but nevertheless it is on the National Calendar. Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci wrote backwards? Since he was known to do things differently; this was his way of creating new things.
Meanwhile, doing things backwards gives you a different perspective.
Celebrate National Backward Day
Of course, there are a lot of ways to celebrate this day. No doubt, all ages can have some fun doing things backwards today.
- Write everything backwards today.
- Also, wear you clothes backwards – no doubt, you can have a lot of fun reversing items in your wardrobe today to wear.
- Talk with your back turned; but make sure you let people know why you’re doing this, so they don’t think you’re being rude.
- Reverse the order of everything you do today. For instance, eat dinner in the morning and breakfast in the evening. Or, you can start your day at night and finish the next morning.
- Walk backwards.
National Backwards Day – Move Forward
In my opinion, moving backwards isn’t accomplishing anything. Because the world is evolving, it is important to move forward.
Meanwhile, there are some parts of going backwards that can be fun, such as:
- Animals
- Backstroke (swimming)
- Candy such as a lollipop
- Jumping out of a plane and doing backward flips
Now, let’s move forward. It is important for each of us to work as individuals and people to create new experiences. To read more on moving forward, be sure to check out my International Women’s Day #PressforProgress post.
Of course, we can all be silly today and enjoy this fun day; but let’s move forward in making a difference.
In essence, will you try doing things differently today?
As always, I look forward to your comments.
Happy National Backwards Day!
