New England Patriots – Denver Bronco’s will be on Sunday, January 24, 2015, at 3:05 Eastern Standard Time.  This will be the 5th straight consecutive year the Patriots will be playing in the AFC Title game.

This game is about the Patriots offense against the Broncos defense.  This is what Sunday’s AFC Championship Game is about.

Tom Brady is a Hall of Fame Quarterback who has won 4 Super Bowls to date.  Peyton Manning is a Hall of Fame Quarterback who won 1 Super Bowl to date.  Both quarterbacks are elite.  There has never been another rivalry against two great quarterbacks quite like this.  Peyton Manning considers it a privilege to compete against Tom Brady so many times.  Both quarterbacks are professional and elite.  Manning has more touchdown passes, yards, MVP awards, and Pro Bowl selections.  Tom Brady has more Super Bowl rings and an 11-5 advantage in their head-to-head duels.  They have split the last five meetings and four postseason match ups.  This rivalry is like no other one in the NFL.  In the NBA Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were known in their playing days to be of this level.

Tom Brady against Peyton Manning is something special. In the first place, there are times when they transcended their teams. Aside from the years, each lost to injuries (Brady in 2008 and Manning in 2011), they have met at least once every season since 2003.  Familiarity has gained tremendous respect between the two quarterbacks.

Brady has won 15 consecutive games when he had both Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski at his disposal, including all four playoff games in that span.  Manning has struggled with a torn plantar fascia and was out for several games this season.  Manning has given thought to his future, and what could lie beyond this season.

The postseason series between Manning-led teams and the Patriots are going to be one to watch.  There fifth meeting is set for this Sunday.  The New England Patriots will travel to Denver for the AFC Game this weekend.  Both sides will be ready.  This game will be much more than the two quarterbacks.  It is important to see how Julian Edelman plays.  With a lot of players injured it will be important to see how this factors into play between both teams.  After all the talk of deflate-gate this past year the New England Patriots came out strong at the start of the season.  As the season progressed and injuries added up there was a bit of concern.  After last week’s Conference win against the Kansas City Chiefs I think Patriots Nation breathed a sigh of relief.

Game Predictions

Although the Patriots are not at home, they are the favorite. Although the Bronco’s are at home, odds aren’t in their favor. The New England Patriots are the better team. With the game a few days away, I will be keeping my fingers crossed and hope we’re heading to the Super Bowl.
