So Spring Training Red Sox is underway and I couldn’t be more excited.  I have been following the Boston Red Sox since I was 6.  Every year as Spring Training Red Sox begins in February I start to get excited.

Thursday was the official reporting date for pitchers and catchers.    There were many players who arrived early.  The Sox will begin Spring Training with no major injuries.

After the last two years, the Red Sox have ended up in last place.  This year’s team has me hopeful.    This will be Dave Dombrowski’s first spring training with the Boston Red Sox.    With so many trades and moves made this offseason it is always fun to anticipate how everything will blend once the season begins.   One of the Sox most popular players, David Ortiz is retiring in 2016.  Hanley Ramirez will start the year as our first baseman.  This should be an interesting transition.

In the offseason, Dombrowski made a lot of moves.   One of the biggest moves he made was signing ace David Price.  In addition, he signed big-time closer, Craig Kimbrel.  There were also several trades and signings of relievers and utility players.  Many of the younger players will be back this year.  Our starting pitching looks strong on paper.  David Price will be the Number 1 guy, followed by Clay Buckholz, Eduaro Rodriguez, Rick Porcello, and Joe Kelly.

One of my concerns with the rotation is Bucholz who is injury prone each year.  I’m hoping Porcello can pitch better and be the starter he was for the Tigers in 2014.  Joe Kelly has good stuff and confidence.  My hope is that he pitches more consistently this year.  On paper, our bullpen looks like it has improved tremendously.

Spring Training Red Sox 2016

After the last 2 years of ending up in last place, I’m a little skeptical heading into a new Baseball year.  I’m hoping the team chemistry, the players produce and the Sox overall have improved offensively and defensively.  The Red Sox always takes pride in being a contender.

I’m hoping with Spring Training Red Sox everything meshes.  Let’s gear up for 2016 and hope for a banner year.

A few fun accessories you may want to add to gear up for the start of the season are:

In conclusion, I cannot wait to visit Fenway Park and wear my new Red Sox accessories.
